Logic Board Repair FAQ

May 15th, 2019

We put together a list of FAQ about our Logic Board Repair service.

If you have a question that isn’t covered here please feel free to call us at 866-726-3342 or email us at repairs@powerbookmedic.com

1. How much does the Logic Board Service cost?

If you send in the Logic Board only its $249.95 and if you send in the complete unit it is $344.95.

2. How long does it take?

It depends on volume of repairs we have in shop and also availability of parts. But it usually takes between 5-7 business days.

3. Do I need to send in my whole machine?

It is up to you! However, sometimes the issue may not be with the logic board at all, it may be another component on your machine. So if you are not sure exactly what is wrong, it may be better to send in the whole machine for our free diagnosis. Also, if your machine is water damaged, it is better to send in the whole machine as there is probably more wrong with it than just the board itself.

4. If I am sending in just the Logic Board, do I need to leave the fans, speakers, RAM, etc. attached?

No, if you are sending in just the Logic Board, please remove the fans, speakers, RAM, and heat sink. All we need is the board!

5. My MacBook Pro 2011 GPU has failed. Do you fix that?

Yes we do! We have done hundreds of these repairs. We actually replace the failed GPU with a new one, this is a solution that lasts longer than just reflowing the GPU.

6. My MacBook has liquid damage! What do I do?

We would be happy to take a look at it for you! In a lot of cases we are able to replace the parts that have corroded and get it back in working order. Just make sure you send in the whole machine as it is normally multiple components that need to be replaced on the machine.

7. Do you offer a warranty on Logic Board repair?

Yes we do! We offer a six month warranty on all our Logic Board repairs.

8. I want to try the repair myself. Can you help?

We have a series of videos on YouTube that show how to take apart devices and also on Logic Board Repair. https://www.youtube.com/user/PowerbookMedic
