Frozen iPod Touch? Does your iPod Touch not turn on or not sync to your computer? There are a few ways to perform a soft reset on the iPod Touch to get it up and running again.

How To Reset an iPod Touch

1.) Method 1 – Hold the hold button at the top of the iPod until the slide to power off screen appears. Slide your finger to power off the iPod. Then, hold the hold switch until the iPod turns back on and the Apple logo appears on the screen.

2.) Method 2 – Hold the Menu and Hold buttons at the same time until the iPod restarts and the Apple logo appears.

3.) Method 3 – If your iPod boots, go into the system preferences and then General –> Reset. There you will find several settings to reset the iPod Touch.

If your iPod Touch still will not sync to a computer, try these additional steps.

1.) Try another USB port on your computer.
2.) Restart your computer.
3.) If you don’t already have it, download the latest version of iTunes.

How To Reset iPod with Clickwheel

*The clickwheel models include the iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Video (5th Generation), iPod 4th Generation, and the iPod Mini.

1.) If your iPod is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
2.) Move the hold switch to the hold position and then back to the original position.
3.) Press and hold the select button and the menu button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.(Usually about 4-6 seconds.)
4.) The iPod will now reset and reboot back into the main menu.

How To Reset iPod with Scroll Wheel

1.) If your iPod is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
2.) Move the hold switch to the hold position and then back to the original position.
3.) Press and hold the play button and the menu button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. (Usually about 4-6 seconds.)

If your iPod still will not sync to a computer, try these additional steps.

1.) Try another USB port on your computer.
2.) Restart your computer.
3.) If you don’t already have it, download the latest version of iTunes.
