The video repair guide for the Mac mini was accurate and easy to follow. I was able to replace a logic board, add more ram and upgrade the harddrive in one operation. Thanks for the guide, I will definitely seek out PowerbookMedic for future parts and repair guidance

Thank you. I think the brick is shut, cause I'm reading up to 39.xxx which I will assume is bad... Thank you guys.

input AC 110-120V 50-60Hz 2.0 A output 18.5V 6.0 A From brick to mac mini (cable) should read at least 18.5 v right? not more, right?

@Alex - it should say on the brick what the output voltage and current should be.

The power brick could be a culprit too for not booting up. But I've tested it and I get 119 on the cord from the wall outlet to the brick, but when I test the brick cable to the mini, i get different readings..what should it be? Thanks

thanks..I've just got one that is not booting, not powering on either. Nothing. and I discover that when I open it, that particular assembly is off and the 'connecter' came off the board...It cannot be put back because it looks like its off the soldering part. I know, how? beats me...will re-assemble again and give it another try.

@Alex - it should work fine without it.

Can a Mac Mini 2009 run without the 'sleeper light" assembly?

@rafh - that sounds like a kernel panic based on your description. That can be caused by several things including bad memory, a defective hard drive, or a bad logic board. it is usually best to get it professionally diagnosed so a lot of possible parts can be tried out.
