QuickerTek's new Quicky Jr II is the fast and easy answer to improving your wireless range and speed for any Apple MacBook, MacBook Pro or iBook. In fact any Mac running 10.4.x or newer and has an open USB port can use Quicky Jr. II.
It uses an easy-to-install USB driver and it simply plugs into an open USB port. No extra steps, nothing to memorize, no extra hardware. It's small size makes it easy to pack in your travel bag, comes with a cradle you can use or just plug directly into the USB port.
Quicky Jr II supports the standard wireless encryption 64/128 bit WEP and WPA. That means you don't sacrifice privacy for speed. Therer are no "gotchas" with this one. Just load the software package & plug it in and go.

and, of course, Apple AirPort Extreme Base Stations

I bought this to use in hotels with weak WiFi signal. It functions, and shows an increased signal level, but it has never shown an improvement in ability to connect or in transfer speed. I presume that it amplifies the noise and interfering signals and
