- This is a left hinge assembly set for the Powerbook G4 Titanium. This is the new style STEEL hinge which replaces the damage prone Aluminum hinges that shipped with the Titanium models. These hinges work on all of the Powerbook G4 Titanium models.NOTE: These hinges have recently been redesigned to be even stronger. The hinges will be slightly shorter in length than the originals and do not have the ends painted in light grey as the original hinges did. The ends of these steel hinges will be unpainted steel.

The TRUTH about STEEL Hinges
PowerbookMedic is one of the only, if not THE ONLY place to get TRUE steel hinges for your Powerbook Titanium.
Several companies say they offer steel hinges or "stainless steel" hinges, but these claims are largely untrue. To validate other company claims, we purchased hinges from our competitors. The result of a simple stress test showed easily broken hinges.
If you do happen to purchase a hinge not from another company, and it bends easily, then you do not have true steel hinges.

Why Steel?
The flaw with the Titanium Powerbooks hinges is that the original hinges were made of a very light metal, aluminum. Aluminum is extremely malleable, and therefore extremely easily broken, unlike steel hinges.

Used parts designated as Non-Working will be parts that will need additional repair in order to be functional. This may include physical or liquid damage.
