Post subject: Powerbook 5300 battery low - any way to repair it?  Posted: Mon Apr 19, 2004 12:11 pm |

I have 3 PB 5300 (2 CS, one C) and only one of the batteries is holding the charge nicely. The other two won't charge up (getting about 8 and 10 volts on them, instead of the normal 13 (?))
Anyway, wondering if there is a way to fix these. I tried that program EMMpathy but it only seems to work on the 500 series. Is there a program that may help me or is there anything I can do to revive these batteries?

If not on your HD, you can dload Apple Battery Recondition from Apple which works on NiMH batteries used in the 5300.
It might take several tries, and you might crash your laptop several times, but usually you can work these batteries into better order.
