 Post subject: PB 3400c sound problem

PB 3400c/OS 8.6/144mb/20mb hd - constant and fairly loud noise (white/pink noise, or hiss) coming out of the sound card - both built in speakers and the output jack. Using audio software such as ProToolsFree, Metro, etc... you can see the noise on the 'meters'. I have another computer running the same software and hooked to the same mixer, and no noise, so the problem is specific to this computer. Fixable?
