For several months, my clamshell battery was dead, and I could run only from 115 VAC power with the yo-yo AC/DC adapter. Suddenly, the laptop would not power up and there were no lights on at the AC adapter plug-in terminal on the unit. A multimeter test showed power at the terminal plug on the AC/DC unit. I'm assuming then that the Power-in Board with attached plug is defective and must be replaced.
I found (through my local Apple dealer) the board and plug new for $17. Your site lists the part used for $89.95. Obviously, I'm confused about which to order. Am I comparing apples to apples here?
I now have a new battery, but no way to charge it until I replace the Power-in Board. So I'm anxiously awaiting your clarification before I buy anything.
