Being a soft touch for a hard-luck story, I've taken on an Indigo 366 iBook. The screen is badly cracked, there's no keyboard or CD drive or battery! The plan is to run it headless.
So.. I borrowed a power supply, and tried to install 10.3 with it mounted in target disk mode on my iMac. Install failed - as did attempts to reformat/erase the disk. I then took out the HDD and put it in an enclosure, then I was able to install 10.3 (and boot from it as an external drive to the iMac).
The problem is, I need to configure network settings with the iBook booted. It will boot now - but there's no video! I have the genuine iBook AV cable, but I'm only getting sound out. Is it possible that the video out is compromised by the screen being smashed? Is there a guide to configure network settings without a GUI (I can remount as a firewire drive to fiddle with files).
Cheers for any advice, sorry it's a long post!
