Post subject: Powerbook 1400: 64MB still maximum RAM?
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2003 7:20 am
Yup, I'm still trying to max out this handy little 'Book! Does anyone know if it's possible to put more than 64 MB of physical RAM into a Powerbook 1400 that has been upgraded to a G3, 233MHz machine? As it is now, I have a 48 MB card stacked on top of a 16MB card. Does anyone make beefed up versions of these stackable DRAM cards?

Again, thanks for any dribble of info!

-Bill

Try checking over at Lowendmac.com for information. Also Other World Computing may be able to help out.

Excellent advice. I seem to recall Lowendmac detailing the use of flash memory cards in the PC card slot as virtual memory. Neat trick.

Thanks again, Bruce.

Even if you have more RAM installed (and you dont want to do that), 64 MB is it. There is a Japanese site that claims to get 70 MB recognized by rewiring the bank structure on some RAM cards, but they arent talking details.
