Do you have the hi-res or low-res 15"? One quick way to check what you need is to go into Apple System profiler, click on Memory, and then see the type of ram currently installed in your machine.

There are two versions of the 15" 1.67ghz. One is a high res, and one is a low res. You can tell which one you have by going into System Preferences / Displays and seeing that the maximum resolution your unit is. You could also go to System Profiler for this information.

That's a low-res model.
