I just finished installing a new logic board and display. When turned on, I heard that beautiful chime and heard the hard drive start up. Much to my dismay, no video. Took it all apart again, hooked up the old screen with the dead pixels, turned it on and again, a very dark screen. Any suggestions? Kudos to powerbookmedic, your step by step guide worked great! Thankyou

the dark screen is a sign your backlight is not turning on. This is usually going to be a problem with the inverter board or inverter cable. If the backlight was working before, I would check the inverter cable. It is usually going to be a cable with a pink and white wire.

Make sure it is plugged in from the LCD to the inverter board and the inverter board is plugged into the logic board.
