The MacBook is built with the Intel-based Processor. It has two memory sockets and can be upgraded to 2-4GBs maximum depending on your model. Memory can be installed one module at a time. Apple recommends that two modules of the same size be installed for maximum performance. Dates in the table below are based on the production start date not necessarily when your actual machine was manufactured. You can find the beginning of production by adding your device to our ID Your Mac page and looking at the beginning of the Production date range.
