I have a Kindle 2 that needs a new screen.
My daughter ha a Kindle 3 that needs a new screen.
That is $500 worth of useless electronics!

The Joy Stick my Kindle DX dropped altogether and the unit will buy a new piece andreplace it myself with a new one, because I know a bit of electronics.
I wonder if the company has that number and how much would the total including freight to Salvador – Bahia – Brazil. The company would not have any responsibility if the exchangefails.
Thanks

I ordered my Kindle Keyboard WiFi reader in January, 2011 from Amazon. would that be a second generation model???
Thanks!
August 24th, 2012 at 10:37 am
@Doug – What’s the model #?
August 24th, 2012 at 5:59 pm
Gosh Bradley, the only number is the Serial Number B008 A0a0 0024 0dc3. The print on the back is so small and worn it’s unreadable. It’s running version 3.3 .
August 27th, 2012 at 10:41 am
@ Doug – That’s a Kindle 3.
August 28th, 2012 at 7:43 pm
Thanks Bradley… I know it is a graphite, referring I suppose, to the color. It looks like a Gen 2. Wonder what the diff between the 2 & 3 ? The “next page” turn key (right side) is wearing out. Sometime it turns two pages at once. I was thinking of getting one that is broken and going in and removing the faulty key and replacing it. I also have a new Touch model. I’m getting used to that one. But my heart is with the keyboard model.
August 31st, 2012 at 2:19 pm
@Doug – The Kindle 2 only came as white. So, if it graphite, it can not be a Kindle 2nd generation. There are a lot of differences between the 2nd and 3rd gen kindles. The form factor is completely different.

Greetings.
I’m looking for a replacement 3.5 mm audio jack for my wife’s Kindle Fire. I’m looking at the component on a site called ifixit.com but have not been able to find a place to purchase it. It looks to be a jack attached to a small green circuit component.
Can you help?
Thanks,
