17" macbook pro A1229 not sleeping

Hello!

After replacing my damaged LCD screen on my Macbook pro 17" (A1229) when the lid closes computer does not go into sleep mode.

Everything else is working as normal and computer will sleep when actually prompted to do so.

Any ideas?

There is a magnet inside the display which controls the sleep function when the lid closes. This magnet may not be seated correctly or sometimes gets stuck on the old LCD.
