Powerbook Trouble

I have a 15 inch powerbook G4. I cracked the screen so I replaced it. I replaced the entire top LCD portion. When I removed the lower half of the keyboard, I needed to reconnect the wires and when I put it back together, my powerbook would not turn back on. I don't know what the wire is called that goes from the bottom of the keyboard that connects to the main part of the computer, but when I manually start the computer it turns on but none of the keyboard functions work.

That cable is not sold separately by Apple, so you'll need to either find a used one for sale somewhere or you can buy a new top case.

So it it the whole keyboard that is bad. Are these things pretty fragile because before all this it was working perfect

I think you can buy it in some personal sellers [used one] because you cannot buy it individually.

I have an exact problem on the G4 - cracked screen, I mean. Is this feasible to fix it yourself? Is it recommended? Is it easy to replace this way or should I go to a dealer. The OP, Wendy, made it sound easy?

it's fairly easy. we have video repair guides on our site to guide you through it and see if you think you could handle doing it yourself.
