Hi, first of all I'd like to thank you for all the endeavor you put in maintaining this forum. I appreciate it a lot.
My Powerbook G4 1.67GHz (low res) does not show video in the bottom third part of the screen. When I press the display back slightly and hold it that way, the screen fills up correctly, though. When I let go of the display the bottom part of the screen turns black again or shows fuzzy lines. What could the problem be? Could it be the data cable being pinched?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Well there is a common problem with those LCDs which cause a 1/3 issue like you are seeing. It is going to be the LCD that needs to be replaced. It is somehow they are manufactured they got out in 1/3 sections.
I think we are out of stock of that particular LCD at the moment, but we should have them back in 1-2 weeks.

Thank you, Justin. So, it will be somewhat more expensive than just replacing the cable.
Kind regards, Eckhardt
