 Post subject: I have some issues with downloading

Hi, i am a total n00b to macs and have been given an aluminium g4 1.25ghz 512mb ram jobby.

Basically it all seems to work wonderfully with wireless, but whenever i try to download an installer, i.e. skype or msn messenger, it comes up with an error saying it cant create the file.

As i say, i am a total n00b to macs, been on pc's all me days so any help would be greatly appreciated :D
