Freeze with Powerbook Titanium 800

Powerbook freezes while typing or clicking on something. Memory has been replaced. Computer almost never crashes when used with external keyboard, monitor, and mouse. My conclusion is that it is either the trackpad or keyboard. I disabled the trackpad while using the keyboard, but it still crashes while typing. Any suggestions? Replacing the trackpad is ridiculously expensive. I haven't gotten a price for the keyboard yet. That's easy to replace and check. Given the worth of this computer these days, I can't see spending huge sums on fixing it. Thank you.

First I would reinstall your system software. If that doesn't do a trick, then most likely you'll need a replacement logic board.

I had already re-installed the software and swapped the memory. This was one of (possibly) thousands of defective powerbooks. A cable was touching the case and pressure caused the powerbook to short circuit.

It's pretty amazing that Apple has not discussed this problem. A little bit of scotch tape goes a long way.
