I was just given a used PowerBook G3/233,

I suspect that the yo-yo AC adapter that was also donated to me with it isn't the right one, M7332.

The battery was working a few months ago, but now it's dead and it will not recharge even if plugged in with teh powerbook off. The PowerBookG3 is listed here as being compatible, but I'm really having to jam the plug into the computer pretty hard.

I'm concerned that it's not the right adapter because it isn't listed here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=16168

There's nothing about the M7332 in the owner's manual and the one depicted here looks nothing like the M7332.

The computer works on AC power fine ( guess...I hope I'm not frying something!!) , but it won't charge the battery. I know it's possible that the battery is just old and won't hold a charge any more. (Coincidentally, I had a similar problem with an intel based laptop from work that came with the wrong AC adapter. The notebook worked but wouldn't charge the battery...weird! They sent me the right adapter and the battery started charging. I am wondering if the same thing isn't happening with my powerbook.)

I thought I'd post this problem here to see if any of you guys are using a Powerbook G3 with an M7332 adapter with no issues.

It should be compatible, correct? Is there any chance I'm damaging anything? Thanks.
