Lombard dead

I have a 400mhz lombard that booted last week then it went to sleep and has not booted again when you plug it in the statout light stays on and notheing happens i have tried replaceing the pmu board but that did nothing .. also when you reset it by pusing the reset on the back the light gose away but it still dose nothing ,

any ideas...

Reset everything if you haven't already. Otherwise, I think I saw a similar problem posted on the Apple Discussions:

Sounds like you have a dead processor. Thats what happend to mine recently i just had to buy a new one.

i think it might be the logic board because it will not even charge, with out the processor installed....

it wont lombards wont do anything whith out or a busted processor.. i know i tried to keep my batter charged while mine was dead for a couple months didnt work.

I have same problem w/my 233 mhz Lombard and am fairly certain the problem is the power supply; local Apple repair shop said it could replace just the power supply; don't know if that's what you were referring to when you said you replaced the "power mgmt. unit" . . . good luck

First, a 233MHz is a Wallstreet, not a Lombard (Unless you meant 333).
The 'power system' on a powerbook consists of AC adapter, AC board, and Battery charge board. The Wallstreet also has a separate PMU board, its integrated (with the battery board I think) on Lombard and Pismo models.

You can replace any of these parts if you suspect they are faulty.
It should be noted that logic boards and CPUs can cause power problems too.

Usually this problem is the processor board (daughtercard), and it is extremely common issue. The fix is to replace the card. Any card from the link below will work:
