I recently acquired a powerbook 5300c that seems to have a dead backlight.

(It displays, but its really really really dark.)
I would like to replace it myself, but have never opened a laptop before. Is there any advice you could give before I go hunting for the proper torx screwdriver and replacement ccfl? Do LCD's store voltage like CRTs that might blow me into next tuesday? Should i ward off the evil eye first with a hex-mark, etc? or can i just open it up, remove the lamp, order a replacement model and have a Dr Pepper?
Any advice is greatly appreciated
