I have a Wall Street G3, and the PC card plugs do not work. When I insert a card in either, I get a broken circuitboard icon. This is recent; I previously connected to a firewire external drive and USB flash drive using PC adpater cards. I was given a Pismo I could use for parts (the hard drive is trashed). I thought I would replace the PC card receiver with the one in the Pismo, but it accomodates only one card, so am not sure it will be compatible.
I notice the Pismo has USB and Firewire ports on the back. Is it reasonable to exchange that backside set of ports for the older set of ports on the WallStreet? Do I need to also exchange the motherboard? Is there anything else that must be moved over as well to make it work properly? That would give me the ability to plug in USB and Firewire peripherals without needing the PC card.
I recently successfully exchanged the internal harddrive in the WallStreet, using a repair manual from Powerbook Medic, so if this is a feasible project, I will download a Pismo manual and see if I can do a successful transplant operation.
