hi all kind souls,

is currently working on a 2 year pb 400 but since one and a half year back the firewire port was totally fired. i had approach the apple center one year back and the price to replace the whole board was (Singapore)$900. since then i had to rely on a PCMCIA firewire card to handle all connection. This prove quite a chore as some i have to pluck in extra power adapters to the PCMCIA card to some devices.

just known of this site and would like to know if getting a new motherboard is worth the while. may i know the price of the motherboard? Also, is the installation extensive?
