 Post subject: PowerBook G4 fan doesn't seem to be working

My fan used to run from time to time but i've noticed lately that it hasn't come on at all. How do i know if it's the fan that needs replacing or whatever controls the fan?

Also, i've tried downloading several different internal temperature monitors and none will run, is that normal? They won't even launch, though they attempt to.
