Arghhhh Broken screen on my Ti 550

Hi everybody
First, I am french, so forgive my clumsy english.

Well, the 18 of december I was working on my Titanium 550 (on a table). At 2:00 PM, I put it to sleep.
I came back at 5 :00 PM and wake it up... Horror : my screen was broken (described to apple technical service, that was their anwer and it seems true : black liquid leaking inside... Bouhh !).
How can this happen while the device is "sleeping".

Its travelling to Holland (Applecare). By the way, the guy from UPS did not want to give me a receipt when he came : is it normal ?

I droped a kinfe through my powerbook lcd this morning it sucks. Do you know what it will cost to get it fixed?

Check Ebay they seem to have a few. Prices seem pretty good for the most part.
