My cable broken when I stretched it too hard to try and connect the airport card. It is broken from the pad and still has a short bit of cable and the part which goes into the airport card. Can I solder it myself ? Should I replace the card cage ? Or just buy a cable and connecter part ? Will this be too difficult ?? Help !!!! Please !! I have a G4 Ti Mercury 500.

You won't be able to repair the cable most likely. You'll need a new cable.

Yikes ! Will I need to remove the track pad to replace the antenna cable ? Would it be simpler to get an external antenna or would that not work for a wireless network ~ airport card??

The internal cables come with a new top case if you want to go that route. It is really up to you because it is more of a cosmetic question. I've definitely seen people wire up external antennas through the PCMCIA slot before on these models.
