Powerbook G4

My husband just received a G4 (15") which was left to him by his father who passed away.
He had an administrator password on it and he never told us what it was.
Is there any way to reset it so he can use the machine?

The password can be reset using a copy of the operationg system. Boot up the powerbook using your operating system disk (os x jaguar edition). Once the disk has booted up do not re-install the operationg system; rather, go to one of the menus next to blue apple on the upper left corner of the screen. In one of the menus you will find a line that reads, "reset password." I think its located in the File menu. I hope this helps
