 Post subject: Airport card reliability in clamshell iBook?

What issues contribute to reliability. The last card lasted 7 months. The first was intermittant. The second just died completely. I have a 300 MHZ iBook. It generally starts with messages like: Begin: "Getting status", "Status not Available" repeat until :(
