I would like to buy a replacement screen for my graphite ibook SE firewire.
When I tried to order one from powerbook.com there are two brands to choose from. LG and Samsung
How do I know wich brand is compatible for my unit without dissasembly.
You have to open up the display case of your iBook. Simple procedure really. Just use a T8 Torx screw driver to remove the 2 screws in front, and 2 screws in the back by the handle. Then comes the tough part of pulling the face plate off carefully. There may be some adhesive between the LCD screen and face plate, just carefully seperate them.
Then take a small philips screwdriver to remove the four screws near the corners of the LCD screen. Careful not to pull out the cables still connected. Then take a peak at the back of the screen, you will find a sticker indicating the brand and model#.
I have a Tangerine and Graphite 466. Both had the same sticker at the back. Both were Samsung.
