I have a graphite 466mhz with dvd drive and firewire port. Recently my firewire port seems to have stopped working. I no longer can use my firewire external hard drive or my external firewire cd burner. They just are not recognized by the computer and the profiler does not see that they are connected.
Is this a hardware issue or could it be related to my recent installation of 10.2.8? If it is hardware, does it mean a logic board replacement? Thanks. rms

It could possibly be related to 10.2.8 as it introduced a host of problems to older powerbooks. Most likely though your firewire port on your logic board is dead, and you need to replace the logic board to get firewire working again.
