 Post subject: iBook white screen

My little brother iBook starts up with a white screen and stays there never getting to the desktop or anything. The top 25% of the screen is black and catches up to be white. Then on the bottom 25%, the screen has 30 black line from left to right. It also catches up to be white. What is the problem with the screen. How much does it cost and what would be the trade up value for the iBook? G3 300mhz,3.2Gb,32 MB,CD-Rom,OS 9.0.4. Last app running was iTunes.

Most likely it is a display problem. You'd need to replace your display. The cost is $279.95 for a new display. We currently aren't doing trade ins.
