I think I damaged my network adapter - like an idiot, I plugged a non-crimped rj45 into it...now all the gold pins are bent and my router cannot see the ibook - I've checked the connection with another laptop and the connection is fine, so I'm pretty sure my boneheaded mistake is the probelm. Any ideas/suggestions on how to fix it?

The only way to fix the RJ45 port is to replace your logic board. It sounds like you messed up the port.

If you think you can get a flathead screwdriver and flaten them back into position it might be possible, but I wouldn't reccomend it.
