I have just come across a Macintosh iBook and I have no clue how to get information on what it is exactly. It has no power left in it (Battery is dead) but I had been using it for several minutes before it turned off and all is well with it. The problem is I can't tell what model it is and if I can't tell that I can't purchase a power Adaptor for it. It is a White Snow G3 made in 2002. That information narrowed it down to a few models but I still can't find the information I need on the Laptop. I want to load this thing up with memory, wireless, a CD-RW if I don't have one in it already, power adaptor and a Video adaptor. Is there anything I can do without powering it on to find out what model number it is ..... All that is listed on the back is A1005 and the battery has A1008.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

GO to the Apple system profiler (OS 9 under apple menu) or About This Mac (OS X under apple menu) and click more info.

That will give you a whole lot of info on your ibook. Then go here: http://lowendmac.com/pb2/ibook-guide.html and you can match it up.
