My sister set my ibook down a little hard this weekend and since that happened it locks up and sometimes it wont turn back on for a while.
im wondering if the video card is loose or something simple like that. I was wondering if there were online instructions on how to open it and check.
thnx

I have the 14" dual usb 700mhz ibook. Mine was doing the same stuff as yours and I opened it to locate what I thought might be a loose connection. Instead of finding a loose cable I found no visible errors but I did end up voiding my warranty. If your ibook is still under some sort of warranty just let apple deal with it. If you don't have a warranty, tear into it. I don't know what model ibook you have, but if it's the newer model be very careful when you open it up. Opening it may just cause more problems for you.

Good Luck!

ha, mine did the same thing, it just started randomly, but would consistantly do it everytime i used it. finally it stopped booting up at all. i sent it in because i bought applecare for it. they told me it needed a logic board replacement, but, they told me it had liquid damage whatever the hell that is. i never spilled anything on it ever, but still, they found some corrosion inside when they opened it up.
i ripped it apart when i got it back home, and i found nothing wrong inside, and i even got it to boot up a couple of times, but mostly, no dice. dead computer.
it looks like i'm just out the 1600 dollars i paid for it too. oh well, my next computer will still be a mac.
