I use a small Belkin Surge Supressor where ever I go, with the new powersupply that I got from Amazon.com. (different brand) Friday the 19th, the Computer was working fine. I shut it down several times and started it back up again. I even plugged it into different wall sockets. That night I put it away in its bag. I took it out at a Fast Food place with WiFi. I plugged it in as I always do but this time it was dead.

I noticed that I was getting power to the computer because there is a little LED between the F5 and F6 keys. When I press the F5 key that light lit. When I held the power button down long enough the light would go out.

I tried the different PRAM resets but to no avail. I do not have the resources to take the laptop to an Apple store or repair store and I was hoping for another option.

I just can't believe the laptop, even one that is pushing 10 years old, could die over night.

Typically when that num lock light gets stuck on, it is going to be a logic board problem.
