Post subject:  beverage in keyboard

spilled beer in keyboard. tipped it out fast, turned-off. Took keyboard out - nothing had gotten beneath (tight fit.) Blew beer out side with compessed air, dried overnight. System boots fine, but half the keys don't work.

Clean again? Or give up and buy replacement?

Thanks

You'll have to buy a replacement keyboard to fix the issue. This usually happens in a liquid spill. You're lucky there wasn't more damage. The item is available from our online store at the link below:

Ok, thanks, Bradley. It seems incredible to me that laptops (of any make) would be so vulnerable to such a common mishap.

The fact that your logic board survived a spill says something about the engineering. With virtually any portable electronic apparatus, you have to have some "Weak spot" at the point where you have to interact with said apparatus. The only way you'd be able to protect your keyboard is to put a keyboard saver on the unit, or put it in a bubble. :-)
