When I plug in the power adapter on my iBook G3 (600 mhz), it glows reddish orange for about 10 seconds, then the power indicator light dies--no color, red or green. Sometimes I do not even get the reddish orange indicator. I seem unable to get power to my iBook and the battery is now dead (thus the red/orange light instead of green?). The problem persists whether or not I have the battery in place. I am guessing I need to replace either the power adapter or the DC in board, or both. Are my guesses right? If so, which is the most likely problem, the DC in board or the power adapter? Or is there some other part that may need replacing?
