Post subject: Slow Internet Surfing with Integrated Ethernet Port Posted: Fri Dec 26, 2003 5:04 pm |

Greetings -
I own a '98/'99 Wallstreet PB G-3 Notebook, and have noticed
that the speed of my internet surfing, via the integrated
ethernet port, has really bogged down to dial-up rates.
My spouse has a PC sharing the same Internet over Cable
line (via hub) and it flies, so it's not the cable nor hub port.
Any ideas out there?
Many thanks!
-David

I use a PC as a Gateway with ADSL modem, the powerbook is then connected to the PC using network cable and the 10 Base T port in the back direct into the PC. The ethernet port on the powerbook is 10Mps. Due to this I find I can only get rates of 40kps download speed, instead of 80kps I can on the PC.
I dont know how your machine is connected to the Cable Modem.
