Post subject: Lombard sort of freezing for about 30 seconds, then OK..
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2003 6:02 pm
Hello

My Lombard (PowerPC 750L, LoneStar, Rev3.1, Copper G3 with 10X, PVR = 0x00088300 per PPC checker) will seem like it's frozen for about 30 seconds, then come back to life, then after a while (haven't determined the frequency yet) will do a pseudofreeze again. Anyone ever have this happen to them? I'm puzzled. I'm running 8.6 as that is what I'm familiar with and it apparently is what Lombard shipped with, so it works for me!

Thanks for any help!!!

Deb

The revision 3.1 processor is a good chip, but it sounds like the L2 cache on the chip may be failing. You should probably look into getting a processor replacement.
