Greetings thanks in advance for this website!
I have an A1181 2.4ghz model 2007.
The unit will not run unless its on A/C adapter/magsafe. The battery is new and original, and I have an extra OEM battery that shows identical symptoms.
I have changed the battery connector. I have also cleaned with contact cleaner the female part of the logic board where it plugs in.
Works fine and charges the battery, shows orange while charging and green when full on the adapter.
Mac recognizes battery and shows time left, but as soon as you disconnect the A/C adapter/magsafe the Mac shuts off.
Any ideas other than replacing the logic board? I have a 1.83 Ghz logic board standing by, I just am going to miss the 2.4Ghz = /

Logic board is about it. You've pretty much diagnosed it perfectly. The only long shots I can think of is making sure you do a PRAM reset. You can do this by turning the laptop off.. taking out the battery and unplugging it.. and holding down the power button for 10 seconds.. then trying the battery again.

Is there any way to tell that you successfully did the PRAM reset?
Also, is there anyway to swap processors?
Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

The volume and brightness settings should reset with a PRAM reset.
The processors are part of the logic board and are not realistically replaceable without replacing the entire logic board.
