I stupidly let my A1212 overheat so some part of the logic board fried. Sent the entire Macbook Pro (except for hard drive) to Powerbook Medic but I'm wondering if it's possible to upgrade the 2.33 processor (if that's the problem). Anyone know?

If it is from the same release group as yours, you can in most cases. Best thing to do is find your model in the table on wikipedia for MacBook Pros and see what other processors were available for your same release date.
