Hi, I got a new A1181 macbook LCD panel and installed it myself. I turned it on and everything is great except all the color is very "bleedy" and purplish blue.

Could the possible cause be having the inverter cords run diagonally across the back of the lower corner of the lcd panel?

Could it be from even slightly touching the DO NOT TOUCH transparent tape?

I hope it's fixable. Thanks for the help.

Lucas

The inverter cables are only for the backlight. Color issues are typically something with the display LVDS cable. I'd reseat the connection on both ends and make sure its not getting pinched anywhere.

I had a 13.3" Macbook that was passed on to me for repair and when I tore it down I noticed that there were a couple cables that were pinched down on pretty hard. I could tell that the person who tried to fix it was rushed and forced the pieces back together. My question is:

If the cables are the problem can they be replaced?

What connections should I troubleshoot to try and get the color back to normal?

This is my first Mac to work on but I've taken apart every other computer you can think of, I appreciate any help.

*****UPDATE*****

I cleaned the connection for the LVDS cable to the logic board and it fixed the problem. There was some buildup/corrosion that was keeping it from having a clean connection. I was able to use a bit of alcohol and a paper towel to clean off the corrosion and the color issue was fixed.

Good luck on fixing yours!!!
