My son dropped the Macbook (13.3" lcd) and now the screen only displays colored vertical lines. Is there anything besides the LCD that might be the problem? The computer displays fine on an external monitor.

There are three possibilities... the LCD, the display cable, and the logic board. It is hard to say without trying new parts. If the problem gets better or worse depending on the angle of the display, it is more likely to be the display cable. I would generally start with the LCD, it is the easiest repair.
