Have a second Gen Macbook that kernel panics on startup. Has some interesting symptoms.
1. Will not boot from install Disc (kp's) 2. Will not allow a PRAM reset-never chimes second time, when I try, screen goes black, sleep light stays on, re-boot required. 3. Will not boot to ext Firewire drive or other Mac in Firewire mode. 4. EFI (option -S) does not a appear to finish completely-no command line. 5. Swapping RAM in/out has not helped. 6. PASSES all Apple Diagnostics and AHT.
I haven't taken it apart yet but I'm wondering if either the airport card is the problem or maybe the PRAM battery is dead. Failing that, likely a logic board I guess. Maybe even a spill?
Any ideas?

the airport card does tend to cause some kernel panics when they go bad. You may want to go in and start disconnecting unnecessary components just to help narrow it down.
