Post subject: Macbook with varying levels of deadness Posted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 4:09 pm |

I've a 2006 black macbook which has suddenly stopped working, it seemed to start after it slipped off the sofa whilst sleeping.
First the superdrive kept trying to read a disk but it was empty.
tried to restart but it black screened and the power light was flashing
since then it gets to varying levels of booted-ness ranging from fully up to blackscreen-and-flashing-light (+/- Bong!).
I've tried
full reset
removing and reinserting memory
boot into open firmware - still blackscreen-and-flashing-light
Could it be a loose connection?
or am I logic board hell?
cheers
Dave

From what you describe, it is likely the logic board. We would need to see the unit in the shop to determine the issue however.
