Typically with damaged memory, the front sleep light will blink three times when you try to turn it on, so check for that.
Also does the machine stay running or does it power down after a few seconds? This could be an unplugged or damaged temperature sensor.
You may want to have it professionally diagnosed at this point, so several parts can be switched out without having to worry about shipping back and forth.
I took the system apart again, meticulously cleaned the heat-sink & CPU's, reassembled the system with new thermal paste, made sure all connections are propely attached & seated, etc. When I put it back together, I noticed that the mouse button is stuck down. When I remove the keyboard, the mouse button appears to be working normally...Is there some trick to installing the keyboard so that this doesn't happen? Would the mouse button being stuck prevent it from booting?
How much would it cost if I were to send it in? If either of the parts I already purchased prove to be defective, would that be taken into consideration in any way?
Thank you for your help...
