Suddenly my Macbook Pro 17' stopped to turning on. I went to a Apple certified technician and he told me that the problem is the logic board that has to be changed. At least the hard drive is ok. I would like to fix my computer instead of buying a new one. What's the better and best way to get it repaired? Can I buy a logic board from PowerbookMedic or is it better to send you the computer to repair? Thanks Tatiana

It really depends if you are up to repairing it yourself. We have repair videos you can watch to see if you think you can do it. If it looks like too much, you can send it in.

I think I prefer to send it, I don't feel confident to do it by myself. I saw that the price to get a Macbook Pro repaired is US$ 299,00. Does this price consider everything, including the logic board, or I would have other expenses? Thanks

if you are just sending the board in, that's it unless you choose one of the expedited shipping methods.
if you are wanting to send in the whole machine and us take it out for you, repair it, and reinstall it.. that is an additional $95 charge.

Hi Justin, I think I will send the computer, so you can repair it and reinstall it for me. Is it possible to do an upgrade and install a faster logic board? I work with videos and I would like to have better performance. If the answer is yes, how much it would cost? Thanks

It really depends exactly which model you have and what logic board upgrades are available for that release group.
I'd suggest going to our Send-In Repair page and requesting a quote and mentioning you may want a logic board upgrade and they'll reply with all your options and pricing.
