I think it's my fan that has gone bad, but I'm just posting to confirm. I've already taken off the keyboard and air dusted the fans, which did not help a bit. What could cause the fan to act like this?
Is there anything else I should consider replacing while I'm at it?
I'm pretty confident that I can replace the fan myself, but I'm unsure if I should replace both fans while I'm at it.

sounds like the ball bearing in the fan is bad. You'll need to replace the fan. As far as anything else, I probably wouldn't bother unless you want to max out the RAM. RAM is pretty cheap right now.
