Post subject:  Keyboard issue

I have a MacBook Pro 13" model #A1278, Serial #C2VF97BEDH2G that my husband took outside near the pool. Of course kids splashed it. Now some keys(7, u, j & m) type crazy letters & symbols or opens the security program. My husband takes it to the apple store & they tell him it will cost $800.00 to fix it or we can buy a new one for $1100. They said there was corrosion. So I open it up and there was a little corrosion on a connector on the logic board that I was able to blow off easily with the dust remover.
One, does it sound like just the keyboard or could it be the logic board? I've been checking out your website and I see the keyboards are reasonable & I could probably do it myself but what if it is the logic board?
Signed,
Please help my husband out of the dog house
